This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 8

9:44 a.m.: Tabra A. Allen, 30, of the 100 block of East Saline Street, was arrested after officers responded to the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard regarding a vehicle that crashed into a building. The occupants had been checked by EMS and reported no injuries. Allen was arrested for second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to register with the Department of Revenue.

7:26 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 2300 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a commercial burglary alarm. They checked the business and determined entry was made. A suspect was identified and arrested the following day without incident and is being held in the Pettis County Jail pending charges of second-degree burglary and attempted stealing.

10:51 p.m.: Jason Todd Argenbright, 49, of the 400 block of North Engineer Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop near East Broadway Boulevard and South Hanco*ck Avenue for moving violations and indicators of impairment. Argenbright was under the influence of drugs and in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail for a 24-hour hold pending formal charges of driving while intoxicated-drugs, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

June 9

2:21 a.m.: Matthew Marion Platt, 43, of the 600 block of East 24th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near East 24th Street and South Ohio Avenue for speeding and failing to maintain the right half of the roadway. Platt was operating a vehicle not in his sex offender registry and violating a statutory requirement for sex offenders. He was placed on a 24-hour hold for a state felony charge.

4:07 a.m.: Orekly Ruffino, 40, of the 900 block of Winchester Drive, was arrested after officers responded to a disturbance in progress. A primary physical aggressor was determined and Rufino was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of fourth-degree domestic assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and child abuse.

9 p.m.: Jonathon Lee Prewitt, 42, of the 1800 block of South Sneed Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a disturbance. They attempted to speak to both parties, but Prewitt was very irate and began making threats while officers were investigating. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of peace disturbance, first-degree harassment, tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution, and fourth-degree assault.

June 4

5:19 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of East Ninth Street in reference to property damage on a vehicle's passenger side window.

June 7

2:45 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1900 block of West Main Street for a female who came into the store and asked for a police response. Officers made contact with the woman and determined she was a victim of domestic violence. Information was gathered, injuries were documented and a report was completed. Charges were submitted to the prosecutor's office.

5:55 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a call in the 600 block of East 24th Street for fraudulent activity. They spoke with the reporting party and gathered information for a report.

June 8

10:13 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business parking lot in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a hit-and-run accident. They gathered information and documented damages in a report.

2:38 p.m.: Officers responded to the SPD lobby regarding a theft from a vehicle in the 400 block of East 13th Street. They spoke with the reporting party and gathered information for a report.

7:51 p.m.: An officer stopped a white Dodge Durango for illegal front side window tint and a tinted front windshield. A state charge of illegal window tint on the front side windows and windshield has been requested.

June 9

11:01 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Engineer Avenue in reference to a burglary report.

Arrests

June 7

6:15 p.m.: Jacob A. Hawkins was arrested after a deputy on patrol near West Broadway Boulevard and Curry Drive in Pettis County initiated a traffic stop for an improper left turn. Hawkins had a revoked driver's license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released for driving with a revoked license.

June 9

11:35 p.m.: Joshua D. Olson was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the 23000 block of Highway 127 in La Monte for a report of a man driving around a residence’s yard. The deputy made contact with the suspect and Olson was taken into custody for first-degree tampering and first-degree trespass. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

June 9

11:50 p.m.: Deputies and the Pettis County Fire Protection District were dispatched to the 4500 block of South Limit Avenue in Pettis County for a vehicle fire. Deputies and a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper witnessed a 1999 Dodge Ram fully engulfed in the parking lot along the front of the building. In Motion Towing was contacted and arrived to take control of the vehicle.

June 7

6:47 p.m.: Jesse D. Long, 33, of Bates City, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and no seat belt. He was transported to the Johnson County Detention Center and released.

June 8

1:09 a.m.: Louis C. Nevarez Jr., 25, of Kansas City, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and no valid driver’s license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.

2:09 a.m.: Eric L. Eckert, 23, of Cuba, Missouri, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

10:23 a.m.: Daniel N.Sirom, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Johnson County Detention Center and released.

June 9

4:46 p.m.: Gregory V. Keenan, 53, of Kansas City, was arrested in Moniteau County for exceeding the speed limit by more than 26 mph, passing a vehicle and interfering with approaching traffic, operating a vehicle without a valid license, misrepresenting without authorization an operator’s license or identification card issued by the Department of Revenue, driving while intoxicated - persistent offender, and tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution. He was transported to the Moniteau County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

10:46 p.m.: Taylor L. Owens, 30, of Osceola, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, and failure to register a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Henry County Jail and released.
